Isn't it incredible that time can move so fast. It started as a joke but it turned out to be reality. Today (27th of April) I have booked my tickets for this summer. I had to wait for Jackie's contract signing for his internship, so we both could confirm the dates for our trip. The itinerary will be as follows:
Friday 6th of July
19:05 Amsterdam - 19:20 London
22:00 London - 11:00 Delhi
13:15 Delhi - 15:00 Kathmandu
Sunday 19th of August
23:25 Hong Kong - 05:25 London
07:45 London - 10:00 Amsterdam
So far my plane tickets and the exact plans for in between will be decided along the way. But roughly i may look as follows:
-Kathmandu (Nepal)
-Himalayas (Everest base camp?)
-Lhasa (Tibet)
-Qinghai Railroad
-Sichuan
-Yunnan
-Guangxi
-Guangdong
-Hong Kong
Still two months to go and a lot of things to arrange. Well, basically it's doing research about the interesting places and saving as much money as possible. I have got some backpacking gear from last year, but I will need some really good clothing (expensive stuff like gore-tex, fleece and thermal underwear) to protect me from the extreme temperature fluctuations which may occur in the mountains. This will cost me a big part of my total budget. Luckily, I already got my vaccines and plane tickets. So I don't have to worry about that anymore.
