China adventure is coming to an end

Ey boys 'n girlz. How is it doing in what ever place u are? I'm now in Chengdu, which is one of the largest cities in the center of China. I'll will start describing my journey as from the day I left Beijing.
We (serita and I) left beijing on the 27th of August at about 8 am from beijing airport. The next stop from here was Xi'an. We arrived at Xi'an airport at 10:30 am and our next flight to Chengdu would departure on the same day at 9:30 pm. I have deliberately planned this, because I didn't want trade some Sichuan time for extra time in Xi'an. The only thing there which is worthwhile (for me) to see, is the Terracotta warriors. So we figured that we could do that in half a day. Well, while we thought we had plenty of time to check out the warriors, that unfortunately wasn't really quite case. We found out that Chengdu airport is about 50 km from Chengdu and that the Warriors is another 28 km from Chengdu. This means that we had to travel about 160 km (50 + 28 = 78 > +/- 80 x 2= 160 (for the lest gifted)) in half a day. Taking in account the shitty roads in china. This all left us with little time to spend at the great terracotta warriors. But OK. Where they actually really that great? Once I got at the warriors, it was exactly what I expected from it. A bunch of terracotta coloured warriors in 3 giant pits. Exactly the same which I saw on tv. Ok, maybe there was a brief feeling of excitement at the moment of encounter, but in the end it wasn't quite worth the hassle of travelling and missing out one more day in the Sichuan province. Because this province really got some damn beautifull sceneries to offer. Sceneries best described as "breathtaking". Unfortunately, I am running out of time again and will not be able to finish my story. I will try to squeez in some Sichuan-story-telling-time as soon as possible. Meanwhile you will have to do with this. Ok, Thailand! here I come! Laters!

Ik net back van Lissabon. Niet zo lang weg als jij, maar ook mijn beste week van dit jaar tot nu toe. Keep having fun ;)
